Amazonas September/October 2014 – Catfish Press Review

Hello pleco freaks,

I want to make you aware of two articles in the Amazonas:

Ronald Bosna „Unterwegs auf dem Gran Rio in Surinam“

(“Move to the Gran Rion in Suriname”)

Ronald Bosna visitet the Gran Rio in Suriname in autumn 2012. He wrote about, which fishes he and his companions catched on this trip. For example: Harttia surinamensis, Cteniloricaria platystoma, Partotocinclus sp. „Jonge“, Corydoras boesemani, Corydoras punctatus, Ancistrus temminckii.

Hans-Georg Evers „Harnischwelse aus Asien“

(“Plecos from Asia”)

We know R.S. Rahardja and his company from the L-Number days. His company produce permanently a lot of Hypancistrus zebra. Therefore in this company there live round about 1000 adult Hypancistrus zebra (L 46). Therefore approximately 1000 adult zebra plecos live in the tanks of the company. Here, too, confirmed that the pH (7,5-8,0) for the breeding of Hypancistrus zebra is irrelevant. More important is the consistency of water quality. For this the employes change 80% of the water weekly.
