DATZ 01/2015 – Catfish Press Review

Hello,

In the current DATZ (1/2015) there we can read many articles about tetras. But we can find something about catfishes:

Lars Lepperhoff “Der Traum von paradiesischen Wassergärten” („The dream of paradise Water Gardens”)

Lars Lepperhoff presents us his dream from a water garden paradise. In one section he talks about his two Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps (L 165). He emphasized that these catfishes are totally peaceful and not eat plants. However, newly installed plants can be uprooted. In the aquarium thre are Cryptocoryne and Anubias.

Reinhold Wawrzynsiki “Like a Rolling Stone…”

Reinhold Wawrzynsiki reported how he hides caves under stable heaps of stones. For this purpose he used pebbles and foundlings (also from the DIY store). Whether these caves als were use from the depicted Pimelodus?

Walter Lechner “Manaus – wo Negro und Solimões zusammentreffen (6)” (“Manaus – where Negro and Solimoes make together”)

Further Walter Lechner writes about his fishing trips around Manaus to catch particular Ancistrus from black water. The tours seem to have been very difficult and the yield, well …
A special captive beauty was certainly Tatia gyrina.

Enjoy reading.
