Hello catfish freaks,

today I want to introduce you in three articles from the current issue of Aquaristik Fachmagazin,

Daniel Konn-Vetterlein "Zwischen Salmlern und Welsen am Grunde des Rio Xingu" 2. Teil

(„Between Tetras and Catfishes at bottom of Rio Xingu“)

A main part in this article have the Ancistrus from Rio Xingú. Other interest species which were catched on the excursion were Baryancistrus sp. "L19" and Ancistrini sp. "L252".
In this article there is mentioned a talk with a fishmonger ( fish exporter) from Rio Xingu. He reported how the trade has changed in recent years. Be caught only salable especies, for example Hypancistrus sp. "L66", Hypancistrus sp. "L333", Hypancistrus sp. "L400". There is no more interested in unimpressive or new spectacular species. As reason he called the restrictions of IBAMA and the Ministry of Fisheries, so the positive list.

Erik Schiller "Corydoras ehrhardti in Argentinien nachgewiesen"

So far we know Corydoras ehrhardti from Brazil. The known locations lie in the federal state Santa Catarina, near the coast. As is reported, now this species were also found in Argentinia, in the river San Antonio in near of the mouth of river Iguazú.
