aquaristik 05/2015 – Catfish Press Review

Hello catfish freaks,

today I want to introduce you in four articles from the current issue of Aquaristik (5/2015):

Ingo Seidel "Harnischwelse aus Südamerika bieten eine unglaubliche Vielfalt"

(“Loricariids from South America offer an incredible diversity”)

Ingo describe the Origin of L-numbers and LDA-numbers. He sees the strict restrictions on the export of plecos, in particular from Brazil with their positive list, as a reason for the decline in popularity.

Uwe Werner "Spezialisten unter Wasser"

(“Specialists under water”)

Uwe reports about the various habitats of plecos: running water, boulders and rocks, wood, sand.

Ingo Seidel "Kleine Holzfresser"

(“Small wood-eaters”)

In this article Ingo write about the genus Panaqolus. Panaqolus live only in the Amazonas- and Orinoco-basin. Panaqolus like to eat plants. Most likely Cryptocorynes and Anubias have a chance in a Panaqolus aquarium. In order to increase Ingo recommends generous water changes.

Redaktion "Neuer alter Bekannter"

(“New old acquaintance”)

This is a reference to the scientific description of Pseudacanthicus pitanga, (formerly) Pseudacanthicus sp. “L 24”.

Enjoy reading of aquaristik.
