Río Yanayacu

In the afternoon, a medicine man came to our Board and introduced us to various plants and their medicinal properties. For example: the “miracle tuber” Dracontium. It’s an arum plant, which will help to pretty much all the bites of venomous animals.

Is perhaps a little exaggerated, but then we asked ourselves a little, how someone can die there, because against everything seemed to have grown up an herb.
Then we went to the Río Marañon about 40 km upstream. On the way there was a short boat trip on the shore, we found a group of three toed sloth (Bradypus).

In the evening, was then a short and the next morning a slightly longer trip along the Río Yanayacu (purple marker). In the evening we were able to catch a few fishes, including Trachidoras steindachneri and Pseudotylosuras angusticeps

The excursion in the morning began with an idyllic breakfast on the river. We were able to observe various herons. At the destination, we took a hike around a lagoon. Fishes were not to see, only the remains of a small Anaconda, a frog and a few insects.
