Aquaristik Fachmagazin April / May 2018 – “Catfish Press Review”

Hello catfish freaks,

today I would like to introduce you in three articles of the current issue of Aquaristik-Fachmagazin:

Erik Schiller “The Guaraná-Corydoras” (“Der Guaraná-Panzerwels”)

Erik write about his experiences in the breeding of gold Corydoras eversi. His group spawned at a temperature of about 23 ° C and a pH of 6.5.

In raising, he noted that these young animals of this species are disadvantage to young animals of other species. They should therefore grow up separately.

Ingo Seidel “Pleco worlds – worth knowing, news and unusuals” (“Welswelten – Wissenswertes, Neues und Ungewöhnliches”)

Ingo writes about Corydoras hybrids in nature. At first, however, Ingo draws attention to hybrids in aquaristics and resulting problems with Corydoras sterbai x Corydoras trilineatus and Corydoras panda x Corydoras weitzmani. As Ingo writes, these Corydoras hybrids are not fertile.

Ingo discovered in an import of Corydoras caudimaculatus several animals that must have resulted from a hybridization with Corydoras paucerna. Particularly noteworthy is that the two species mentioned belong to different lineages.

The lineages are considered as candidates for new genera.

Enrico Richter “Rico Richter’s rarities” (“Rico Richters Raritäten”)

I suppose that Enrico himself introduces one of his rarities. The article is about Exallodontus aguanai.

Enjoy reading of Aquaristik Fachmagazin.
