At first he could not detect any gender differences.<br \/>\nA stimulation with lowering the temperature did not succeed. Changes of the water composition tap water \/ rain water and the quantity of water changes was most likely the solution.<br \/>\nParticularly remarkable: he observed the fishes during spawning. In this time the female had also a whiskers.<\/p>\n<p>The water hat a temperature of 26\u00b0C and a conductivity of approximately 70 \u00b5S\/cm. He counted 280 fry\u2018s.<\/p>\n<p>After the hatching Manuel transferred the fry\u2019s into a hanging box. The hearing was without problems.<\/p>\n<h2>Kai Arendt &quot;Clear water at Raudal de Atures \u2013 Part 1: Rio Cataniapo \u2013 in the empire of Cheeks dash earth eater&quot; (&#8220;Klarwasser am Raudal de Atures &#8211; Teil 1: Rio Cataniapo &#8211; im Reich der Wangenstrich-Erdfresser&#8221;)<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/portfolio\/orinoco-stromschnellen-atures-puerto-ayacucho\/\" target=\"_blank\">Raudal de Atures<\/a> are the nothern rapids of the R\u00edo Orinoco near Puerto Ayacucho. Kai write about the history of exploring this area, for example by Humboldt and Bonpland in the year 1800. <\/p>\n<p>In 2009 Kai visited this region. His destination was the R\u00edo Cataniapo. The R\u00edo Cataniapo is a tributary of the R\u00edo Orinoco in the South of Puerto Ayacucho, near the Raudal de Atures. He catched many fishes. In catfishes for example: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsart\/?art=1089\" target=\"_blank\">Hemiloricaria eigenmanni<\/a><\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsart\/?art=179\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Leporacanthicus triactis<\/em>&nbsp;(L 91)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsart\/?art=214\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Lithoxancistrus orinoco<\/em> (L 126)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsart\/?art=280\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Panaque nigrolineatus<\/em> (L 190)<\/a> and&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsart\/?art=2094\" target=\"_blank\">Chasmocranus longior<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Heiko Blessin &quot;One of the most dangerous countries in the world&quot; (&#8220;Venezuela &#8211; eines der gef\u00e4hrlichsten L\u00e4nder der Welt?&#8221;)<\/h2>\n<p>Heiko Blessin reports about the JBL expedition to Venezuela in 2016. On the tour they caught an undescribed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsgattung\/?gattung=26\" target=\"_blank\">Hypostomus<\/a>-species and an undescribed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suedamerikafans.de\/en\/wels-datenbank\/welsgattung\/?gattung=5\" target=\"_blank\">Ancistrus<\/a>-species.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingo Seidel &quot;Corydoras amapaensis \u2013 a very variable Corydoras&quot; (&#8220;Corydoras amapaensis &#8211; ein \u00fcberaus variabler Panzerwels&#8221;)<\/h2>\n<p>Ingo informs about the import of <em>Corydoras amapaensis<\/em> from Brazil. <em>Corydoras amapaensis<\/em> is with 8-9cm total length a slightly larger <em>Corydoras<\/em>. The species is said to have a marked territorial behavior.
