This article is about the scientific description of Chaetostoma joropo<\/a> from Gustavo A. Ballen, Alexander Urbano-Bonilla, Javier A. Maldonado-Ocampo “Description of a new species of the genus Chaetostoma from the Orinoco River drainage with comments on Chaetostoma milesi Fowler, 1941 (Siluriformes: Loricariidae)”<\/a>.
\nFrank Sch\u00e4fer confirms that this pleco is Chaetostoma<\/em> sp. \u201cL 445\u201d, alias Chaetostoma<\/em> sp. \u201cVillaviciencio I\u201d. This is similar to Chaetostoma milesi<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Frank quotes the information over the habitat of Chaetostoma joropo<\/em>, like these called in the work:
\n\u201csandy soil, shallow water 0.2 \u2013 0.55m, oxygen-rich 6.1 \u2013 9.5 ml\/l, slightly alkaline pH 7.1 \u2013 8.6, conductivity 10.4 \u2013 259 \u00b5S\/cm, water temperature 21 \u2013 30 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n
