Hello catfish freaks,<\/p>\n

today I want to introduce you in two articles from the current issue of DATZ (04\/2015):<\/p>\n

Haakon Haagensen und Daniel Konn-Vetterlein "Endlich wieder eine L-Nummer!" ("Finally a L number!")<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe authors introduce the previously known Hypancistrus sp. “Rio Nhamunda” as Hypancistrus<\/span> sp. "L475"<\/a>. This specie \/ form is similar to Hypancistrus<\/span> sp. “L 270”, Hypancistrus<\/span> sp. “Rio Madeira” and Hypancistrus<\/span> sp. “Uatuma”<\/a>. This specie \/ form should be about 14 inches tall and is as well as other known Hypancistrus<\/span><\/a> in appearance very variable.<\/p>\n

\nFrank refers to the scientific description of Farlowella yarigui<\/span><\/a>. (Ballen & Mojica”A new Trans-Andean Stick Catfish of the genus Farlowella Eigenmann & Eigenmann, 1889 (Siluriformes: Loricariidae) with the first record of the genus for the r\u00edo Magdalena Basin in Colombia<\/a>“, the full article is not free of charge). Farlowella Yarigui is one of described 13 Colombian Farlowella species. It is the first Trans-Andean Farlowella of Colombia. Trans-Andean Farlowella are still the two Venezuelan species: Farlowella curtirostra<\/span><\/a> and Farlowella taphorni<\/a>.
\nFurther Frank informed, in the description there is included a key to the Colombian Farlowella<\/a> (The list is probably still a bit incomplete.). Thereof corresponding the most Farlowella in our aquariums would be Farlowella vittata<\/span><\/a>. As he writes, in commercial nobody takes the trouble to determine the species accurately. Without indication of origin the determination is only hardly possible.<\/p>\n
