I want to introduce you in a few articles about catfishes in the journal DATZ 12\/2014:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Frank Sch\u00e4fer "L-Nummern und Oligancistrus aufgel\u00f6st" (“L-numbers and Oligancistrus resolved”)<\/h3>\n

\nChamon & Rapp Py-Daniel published the revision of genus Spectracanthicus<\/span><\/a> (Nijssen & Isbr\u00fccker) (look also “Taxonomic revision of Spectracanthicus Nijssen & Isbr\u00fccker (Loricariidae: Hypostominae: Ancistrini), with description of three new species<\/a>“) at the beginning of 2014. Until then, the genus Spectracanthicus<\/em> was with Spectracanthicus murinus<\/span><\/a> monotypic. Already in 1989 Papp Py-Daniel has established with Oligancistrus<\/span><\/a> a similar genus. Both genera (Spectracanthicus<\/em> and Oligancistrus<\/em>) are characterized by a connection between dorsal and adipose fins. A significant distinguishing feature is the dentition.<\/p>\n

With the revision of the genus Oligancistrus<\/em> is regarded as a synonym of the genus Spectracanthicus<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In 1989 Chaetostoma punctatisimus<\/em> was type species of the genus Oliganicstrus<\/em>. Oligancistrus punctatisimus<\/span><\/a> have also the L-numbers L16<\/a> and L30<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Spectracanthicus immaculatus<\/em> corresponds to the L363<\/a>, according to the revision. [The description in the revision, however, is almost exactly L269<\/a>.]<\/p>\n

L86 is now Spectracanthicus tocantinensis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Spectracanthicus zuanoni<\/em> is referenced by L20<\/a> and L354<\/a>. Frank Schaefer points out that these two forms are clearly distinguishable on the basis of points. As a consequence, L354 will not be included in the environmental and wildlife conservation, because this form does not have an own scientific name.<\/p>\n

\nWalter Lechner reported again on fishing trips near Manaus. Of particular interest here Ancistrus dolichopterus<\/span><\/a> and Ancistrus<\/span> sp. “Brown”<\/a> from Lago Catala\u00f5.<\/p>\n

\nBy-catches are usually also fish that normally are not imported to Europe, so that only a few of these animals are available in Europe. In this way he has already received Corydoras<\/em> cf. elegans<\/em> and Corydoras<\/em> cf. adolfoi<\/em>.<\/p>\n
